Terms & Conditions
Effective date: August 18, 2026 · Last updated: August 18, 2026
Welcome to ChitChat. These Terms are the agreement between you and us for using the ChitChat app and website. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use ChitChat.
01 Who these terms are with
ChitChat is operated by ChitChat ("ChitChat", "we", "us", or "our"), located at [COMPANY ADDRESS]. "You" means the person using the service. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, govern your use of ChitChat.
02 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ChitChat, or older if required in your country. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate. If you use ChitChat on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
03 Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
- Tell us right away if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
- You may not share, sell, or transfer your account without our permission.
04 Acceptable use
ChitChat is meant to be a warm, safe place. You agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, violent, or sexually explicit.
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
- Spam, scam, or distribute malware or harmful code.
- Collect or scrape other users' data without consent.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Use ChitChat for any illegal purpose or in violation of these Terms.
05 Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create and share on ChitChat. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate and promote the service. This license ends when you delete your content, except for copies retained for backups or legal reasons, or content others have already shared.
You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it.
We may remove content or accounts
To protect the community, we may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the law. Where reasonable, we will give you notice, but we may act immediately in serious cases.
06 Our intellectual property
ChitChat, including its name, logo, design, software, and features, belongs to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the service. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of ChitChat without our written permission.
07 Third-party services
ChitChat may link to or integrate with third-party services, such as app stores or payment providers. We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
08 Disclaimers
ChitChat is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will always be secure, error-free, or uninterrupted, or that any content is accurate or reliable.
09 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChitChat will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the [12 months] before the claim.
10 Termination
You may stop using ChitChat and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as content licenses already granted, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
11 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of [JURISDICTION / VENUE], unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
12 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify you where appropriate. Continuing to use ChitChat after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
